Over the past 25 years, Rebecca has consulted for, trained, or developed social marketing campaigns for US state health departments, the Russian Family Planning Association, New York Governor’s Commission on Traffic Safety, the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, and Vermont substance abuse/prevention coalitions among others.  She wrote The Basic Guide to Social Marketing and The Manager’s Guide to Social Marketing.
Real Life Real Talk
As Director of Social Marketing at Planned Parenthood Federation of America in New York City, she directed Real Life. Real Talk®, a campaign to increase balanced talk about sex and health in America in partnership with the Ford Foundation.  She is principal author for an article on Real Life. Real Talk®, featured on the cover of the Spring 2010 Social Marketing Quarterly.

She has worked for three years with the New York State Tobacco Control Program to integrate social marketing into all aspects of their workplan and as consultant for The Promising Practices Guide, a best practices model for reducing tobacco advertising in the retail environment. She teaches the marketing component of the Non-Profit Management Certificate Series in Vermont. She is on the Board of Directors for the Vermont Institute on the Caribbean, where she volunteers in the Dominican Republic for various health marketing interventions.
